Treatment

Bed bug treatment

Dry steam, insecticide in the hiding places, scheduled follow-ups.

from

213 € incl. VAT

Time on site

1.5 to 3 hours depending on the number of rooms, follow-up visits scheduled afterwards.

Bed bugs arrive in luggage, clothing or second-hand furniture, then tuck themselves into mattress seams, bed slats, headboards and skirting boards. They bite at night and stay out of sight by day, which often delays the diagnosis.

After a careful inspection of every bed, the technician applies dry steam, which kills eggs, nymphs and adults on contact, then an approved insecticide only in the hiding places found. You receive a preparation sheet (laundry washed at 60 °C, textiles bagged) and the follow-up visits deal with later hatchings.

Do I need to throw out my mattress?

+

Rarely. Dry steam followed by a full encasement is enough in most cases. Replacing it is only advised if the mattress is torn, since bed bugs then shelter out of reach inside.

How should I prepare my home before treatment?

+

Wash bedding and clothes at 60 °C, bag clean textiles and clear the space around beds and skirting boards. On the day, plan to be out for about four hours while rooms dry and air; vulnerable people, pregnant women and pets stay away for that time.

Why several visits?

+

Some eggs, tucked into a crevice, escape the first treatment. The follow-ups are timed to the hatching period so young bed bugs are reached before they lay eggs of their own.

Could my neighbours be affected?

+

It is possible: in apartment blocks, bed bugs move along skirting boards and ducts. Tell your managing agent; inspecting neighbouring flats lowers the risk of a new arrival.
