Time on site

45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the area, follow-up visit 2 to 3 weeks later.

A cockroach out in the open is rarely alone: it points to an established harbourage nearby, somewhere warm and damp. Behind the fridge, under the dishwasher, inside the extractor hood motor, along the sink pipes or in service ducts, dozens of cockroaches can live without ever showing themselves.

Before treating, we identify the species. The German cockroach, small and light brown, takes over kitchens and bathrooms and spreads between flats along the risers. The Oriental cockroach, large and almost black, prefers cellars, rubbish chutes and cool floors. The American cockroach, reddish and very large, lives in sewers and heated basements, while the brown-banded cockroach hides higher up, in furniture and behind picture frames. Each one calls for different treatment spots.

The technician sets sticky monitoring traps to measure activity, places gel bait in small dots inside the harbourages, adds an insect growth regulator that stops nymphs from becoming adults, and sprays only locally. Egg cases, which most products barely reach, hatch over the following weeks, which is why the follow-up visit is part of the protocol.

Repère Protocol

The Repère Protocol for this service

Always in the same order: we locate before we treat, we check before we close the job, and we leave you what you need to prevent a return.

  1. 01

    Locate

Species identified, torch inspection of appliance motors, skirting boards, ducts and suspended ceilings, sticky monitoring traps and a map of the harbourages.

  2. 02

    Treat

Gel bait in dots inside each harbourage, insect growth regulator where they breed, spot spraying or dry steam depending on the setting.

  3. 03

    Check

Follow-up visit once the egg cases have hatched: monitoring traps read, fresh gel wherever activity remains.

  4. 04

    Prevent

Sealant renewed around pipes, ducts and drains closed off, photo report, storage and tidying advice, monitoring traps left for active vigilance.

Frequently asked questions

Our speciality: we find the harbourages, treat them with gel and come back to check.

Do I have to empty my cupboards first?

+

No. Clear the space under the sink and leave access to the back of appliances: the gel goes into hinges, corners and near motors, without touching crockery or food.

Can I stay at home during the gel treatment?

+

Yes. The gel bait goes in small dots inside the harbourages, with no smell and no blanket spraying: you stay at home, children and pets included. If spot spraying is needed, the technician tells you which room to avoid and how long to air it.

Can my restaurant stay open?

+

Yes. The gel is odourless and goes into places out of reach (under worktops, inside motors, in hinges). We often work before service or after closing.

Why is a follow-up visit planned?

+

An egg case holds dozens of eggs and withstands most insecticides. The follow-up, two to three weeks later, comes once the nymphs have emerged and before they can breed; the monitoring traps then show where activity remains.

Do shop-bought insecticide sprays help?

+

They kill the cockroaches they hit but drive the others deeper into the walls and make the gel less attractive. Please put them away a few days before we come.

The cockroaches come from next door. What can I do?

+

In apartment blocks, cockroaches travel along water risers and shared ducts. We seal the gaps on your side and offer the managing agent or landlord a coordinated treatment of the affected flats.
