Hotels and B&Bs on Booking.com: rooms and kitchens kept under close watch
From the owner opening two guest rooms to a forty-room hotel: source location, targeted pest treatment and a photo report, scheduled around your check-outs and arrivals.
The changeover check
- Mattress, bed base and headboard
- Drawers and backs of bedside tables
- Motors of the breakfast machines
- Drains and under the back-kitchen units
At every check-out, torch in hand: bedding first, then kitchen.
A detailed report by area
Rooms, back kitchen, stores: every area inspected or treated appears in the dated photo report.
2-hour slots
Booked and paid online, when rooms are free and service is over.
A follow-up visit in the protocol
Monitoring traps read, treatment adjusted if needed and advice recorded in the report.
Key point
In a property with several rooms, speed matters: a suspect room comes off sale, is inspected along with its neighbours, then treated before reopening. In the kitchen and breakfast room, monitoring traps read at each visit pick up cockroaches before guests do.
A guest room in your own house, a gîte, a residence or a hotel: every night, luggage from elsewhere comes into your rooms. And as soon as you serve breakfast, the warmth of the machines and the crumbs under the buffet attract cockroaches.
Our Repère Protocol works room by room and area by area: locate the sources, treat where the insects live, check on a planned follow-up visit, prevent through sealing and staff guidance. Every visit comes with a same-day photo report.
What ExpertCafard does differently
Thinking in neighbours
One affected room means checking the rooms beside, above and below it, to find the real source.
The kitchen too
Bait gel for cockroaches, secured bait stations for rodents, documented for your food safety plan.
Staff who know what to look for
We show housekeeping and kitchen staff the traces to spot and what to do if in doubt.
Records ready to show
Dated reports, products and data sheets, recommendations: your register is up to date for a hygiene inspection.
What an insect found too late costs you
Rooms off sale
An untreated room cannot be resold. If the colony reaches neighbouring rooms, part of the floor closes.
A review that stays visible
A comment about cockroaches at breakfast or bites in a room weighs on the bookings that follow.
A poor hygiene inspection
Cockroaches or rodent traces in the kitchen can lead to formal remarks, or even administrative measures.
Spread through service
Trolleys, linen and uniforms can carry bed bugs from room to room, and even to staff members' homes.
The Booking.com guides
Three short guides for you or your cleaning team to apply as they are: changeover routines, printable checklists and answers to common questions.
Inspecting every room at check-out: the protocol for housekeeping teams
A few minutes added to the departure clean to spot bed bugs before they move on to the next guest.

Your questions
I have two guest rooms in my house. Is that something you handle?
Yes. The principle is the same as in a hotel, on a smaller scale: a check at every departure, the room closed at the slightest doubt, an inspection before reopening it. If your family kitchen is used for breakfast, it is inspected on the same visit.
Do we need to close a whole floor if there are bed bugs?
Rarely. The affected room is closed and the adjoining rooms are inspected. How many rooms close depends on what that inspection finds.
Can you work without disturbing guests?
Yes: rooms are treated once vacated, the kitchen and breakfast room after service, in 2-hour slots.
Do you offer regular follow-up?
Yes, with our vigilance contract: scheduled visits, monitoring traps and stations read, a report every time.
