The German cockroach is barely more than a centimetre long, has two dark stripes behind its head and breeds very fast: the female carries her egg case until it hatches, out of reach of most products. It seeks the warmth of appliance motors, hinges and ducts, and moves from flat to flat along the water risers.
The technician sets monitoring traps to pinpoint the harbourages, places gel bait in dots inside each one and adds an insect growth regulator that stops nymphs from reaching adulthood. Cockroaches that eat the gel pass it on to others. Gaps around pipes are sealed and the follow-up visit comes after the egg cases have hatched.

Book a visit →Why do I have cockroaches when my kitchen is clean?
They are after warmth and moisture first, and often arrive through shared ducts from a neighbouring flat. A clean kitchen deprives them of food but is not enough to make them leave.
Must the entire building be treated?
If several flats are affected, it is better: cockroaches come back along the risers. We offer managing agents and landlords a coordinated treatment, staircase by staircase.
Can I use a bug spray in the meantime?
Best not to: it scatters cockroaches into the walls and makes the gel less attractive. Stop using it a few days before our visit.
