Brown rat control

Norway rats arrive through the drains: we find where they come up.

Time on site

1 to 1.5 hours, follow-up visit 10 to 15 days later.

The brown rat, or Norway rat, lives at ground level and below: sewers, cellars, yards, bin stores. A strong swimmer, it travels through pipes, digs under slabs and runs along walls on routes it repeats every night.

The technician starts by finding those routes and the points where rats come up: manholes, drain traps, waste pipes. Secure bait stations are fixed there, a non-return valve is recommended if rats use the pipes, and the holes found are sealed before the follow-up visit.

Frequently asked questions

Norway rats arrive through the drains: we find where they come up.

Book a visit →

Can a rat really come out of the toilet?

+

Yes: brown rats swim and can get through a U-bend. If that is their way in, the technician recommends fitting a non-return valve on the pipe.

In a block of flats, who covers the cost of rat control?

+

Communal areas (cellars, yards, bin stores) fall to the owners' association; the inside of a flat falls to the occupant or the owner depending on the case. We work for either and can coordinate both jobs.

Can the rats come back?

+

Yes, as long as an entry point stays open. That is why sealing and the follow-up visit are part of the protocol: they markedly lower the risk of a new infestation.
